Project Members

Our reserach project is dependent on a true international cooperation of interdisciplinary scientific specialities. 5 of the 20 member states of ESA are represented in our research group. Moreover, we are complemented by the presence of two scientists from countries, which have cooperation agreements with ESA. Each member of our project is a specialist in his/her field.

Flag-ItalyGiovanni Colacicco  Dr. med.

Principal investigator and initiator of the project, Giovanni is dealing with the administrative work between all participating partners. He is in charge of the management and the organisation of the project. Giovanni takes care about the implant and surgery of the experimental animals. He is also the supervisor of the ground experiments and will be present as experimentator inside the A300 Zero-g.dgfgdf dgdsfg gdf dg fg sdfg  dsfrg g sdfgdfg gdfg  dfg gdfgfg  dffgdfhfghdfh dfh fhfdhghgh dhthtt  dgth tthdh h d ttasd dth gts znfrn

Germany-flagOliver Ullrich  Prof. Dr. med. Dr. rer. nat.

Head of the Institute of Anatomy at the University of Zurich and Co-PI of the project, Oliver’s numerous parabolic flight projects were the inspiration to enter the field with a behavioural neuroscientific approach. He has years of experience in scientific interaction with ESA and DLR. Oliver is supervising the organisation and the administration of the project and is the principal partner for problem-solving of the PI.dgfgdf dgdsfg gdf dg fg sdfg  dsfrg g sdfgdfg gdfg  dfg gdfgfg  dffgdfhfghdfh dfh fhfdhghgh dhthtt  dgth tthdh h d ttasd dth gts znfrn

french_flagSophie Masneuf  Dr. sc. nat.

Sophie has a PhD in behavioural neuroscience and is responsible of the behavioural testing of the mice. She is also dealing with the demanding paperwork for the French administrative organs and is part of the flight team during the experiments in microgravity.dgfgdf dgdsfg gdf dg fg sdfg  dsfrg g sdfgdfg gdfg  dfg gdfgfg  dffgdfhfghdfh dfh fhfdhghgh dhthtt  dgth tthdh h d ttasd dth gts znfrn

swiss-flagDavid P. Wolfer  Prof. Dr. med.

Group leader of the Division of Functional Neuroanatomy at the Institute of Anatomy of the University of Zurich, David is one of the two scientific supervisors and a brilliant data analyst. He is the main analyzer of the behavioural data. For further information about his work you can visit his own homepage.dgfgdf dgdsfg gdf dg fg sdfg  dsfrg g sdfgdfg gdfg  dfg gdfgfg  dffgdfhfghdfh dfh fhfdhghgh dhthtt  dgth tthdh h d ttasd dth gts znfrn

AndriiukraineAndrii Cherninskyi Dr. sc. nat.

The statistics wizard of our team handles the huge amount of EEG data and provides the visualisation of the brain activity with self made high-end programs. He’s able to represent bare numbers and oszillations as beautiful and understandable graphs.dgfgdf dgdsfg gdf dg fg sdfg  dsfrg g sdfgdfg gdfg  dfg gdfgfg  dffgdfhfghdfh dfh fhfdhghgh dhthtt  dgth tthdh h d ttasd dth gts znfrn

swiss-flagMonika Sebele

Monika is David’s secretary and helps us with the tough administrative work within the University of Zurich. She is in charge of all organisational issues during the the surgery of the experimental animals and the ground experiments. Monika is also taking care that all bills are paid in time!dgdgfgdf dgdsfg gdf dg fg sdfg  dsfrg g sdfgdfg gdfg  dfg gdfgfg  dffgdfhfghdfh dfh fhfdhghgh dhthtt  dgth tthdh h d ttasd dth gts znfrnfgdf dgdsfg gdf dg fg sdfg  dsfrg g sdfgdfg gdfg  dfg gdfgfg  dffgdfhfghdfh dfh fhfdhghgh dhthtt  dgth tthdh h d ttasd dth gts znfrn

swiss-flagHans-Peter Lipp Prof. Dr. sc. nat.

Hans-Peter is the second scientific supervisor of the project with over  3 decades of experience in the field of cognitive neuroscience. He is also one of the links to our industrial parter: New Behavior AG, which supplies us with the hardware to run our experiments.dgfgdf dgdsfg gdf dg fg sdfg  dsfrg g sdfgdfg gdfg  dfg gdfgfg  dffgdfhfghdfh dfh fhfdhghgh dhthtt  dgth tthdh h d ttasd dth gts znfrn

swiss-flagAstrid Rhyner

Astrid is responsible for the processing of the samples after the end of the experimental period. Her immense experience in staining and cutting of samples permits us to have the best possible material for further processing. She will also be responsible for the foto-documentation of the sampling material.dgfgdf dgdsfg gdf dg fg sdfg  dsfrg g sdfgdfg gdfg  dfg gdfgfg  dffgdfhfghdfh dfh fhfdhghgh dhthtt  dgth tthdh h d ttasd dth gts znfrn

Finland_flagInger Drescher

Inger performs the important reference experiments on ground together with Sophie to have comparative data to the in-flight experiments. She takes care of the transport of our material and experimental animals to Bordeaux. Inger is also in charge of the paperwork concerning the Universities’ Center of Laboratory Animal Sciences.dgfgdf dgdsfg gdf dg fg sdfg  dsfrg g sdfgdfg gdfg  dfg gdfgfg  dffgdfhfghdfh dfh fhfdhghgh dhthtt  dgth tthdh h d ttasd dth gts znfrn

hungarian-flagDimitrula Arabadzisz  Dr. sc. nat.

Dimi is our expert in implant surgery who coaches us the procedures to have the best possible results. She provides us with the surgery -and basic set-up protocols, which we need to modify in order to fit our specific and complex research requirements.dgfgdf dgdsfg gdf dg fg sdfg  dsfrg g sdfgdfg gdfg  dfg gdfgfg  dffgdfhfghdfh dfh fhfdhghgh dhthtt  dgth tthdh h d ttasd dth gts znfrn
